No. To encourage clients to focus on treatment and recovery, our policy is to disengage from technology (smartphones, computers, iPads, iPods, etc.). We’ve found that technology can be used to isolate and remain disengaged from the treatment experience. In fact, some of our clients have a compulsive or detrimental relationship with technology.

Yes. Upon arrival, each client is encouraged to contact their loved one (key emergency contact) to let them know they arrived safely at Summit Prairie Recovery Center. After that, clients do not have access to the telephone for the first five days of treatment so that they can focus on immersing themselves in treatment and making connections with peers and staff. Following the first five days, clients can begin to receive phone calls. All calls will be incoming calls between the hours of 7:00pm CT and 8:30pm CT Monday through Friday and Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00pm CT to 8:00pm CT.
In Visitation, hours are the same as the calling hours. All visits must be preapproved by the client’s case manager ahead of time. We also offer and encourage telehealth visits.

Your admissions team member will explain this in detail.
